Ear problems can present dizziness, decreased hearing, pain or prolonged drainage. We work in conjunction with the Audiology Staff at Eastern Shore Ear, Nose and Throat to diagnose a large variety of hearing and balance abnormalities.
We are also working with Cochlear Americas and the University of South Alabama to develop the only cochlear implant program in south Alabama. A cochlear implant is a device that is used to restore hearing once hearing loss is severe and hearing aids are no longer effective. The implant is able to bypass the inner ear and directly stimulate the nerve of hearing.
